Shopping in Blackpool … Your Full Guide 2023
Since 1949, the Brooks Collectables and Museum has served the community. The basement contains everything from diecast models of well-known individuals to royal artifacts and Edwardian crockery. The museum sits upstairs and contains Blackpool landmark models, old dollhouses, and recordings of British military bands. There is no admission fee to the museum.
The Golden Mile
The Promenade, sometimes known as “The Golden Mile,” stretches between Blackpool’s North and South Piers and is 1.7 miles long. The region is recognized as the slot machine center of the United Kingdom, but it also has everything from themed pubs to traditional ‘chippies’ and rock candy outlets.
The Promenade is home to the Blackpool Tower, SEA LIFE Blackpool, Madame Tussauds, and the Pleasure Beach amusement park, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals. If you don’t want to walk the entire length of The Golden Mile, you can take a tram for a few pounds.
Bonny Street Market
Some of the vendors at Bonny Street Market may even personalize the jewelry they sell, in addition to the many other unique goods they sell at their 75 stalls. The beach, which is barely a hundred yards away, has plenty of games and beachwear as well. If you’re seeking for affordable shopping in Blackpool, this market is ideal.
Bonny Street Market is just behind SEA LIFE Blackpool on the Promenade. Bonny Street Car Park is the closest, while Chapel Street Car Park and Jaggy Thistle Car Park are also within walking distance.
Opening Hours: Daily from 9 am to 6 pm
St John’s Square
St. John’s Square is a pedestrian square located between the Winter Gardens and the Grade II-listed St. John’s Church. There are numerous retailers, ranging from chain stores to local boutiques, as well as public art pieces and outdoor entertainment. Several individuals in the region go there to shop for apparel and jewelry.
A variety of annual events are held in Saint John’s Square and the neighboring districts. Every August, the city holds the Rebellion Festival, which showcases performances by some of the world’s top punk bands. If you’re looking for something a little less busy, the British Country Music Festival is hosted every year and is a lot of fun.
